Le pr\u00e9sident des \u00c9mirats arabes unis, son altesse cheikh Mohamed ben Zayed Al Nahyane<\/strong>\u00a0 a affirm\u00e9 que son pays \u00e9tait en \u00e9tat de guerre, mais qu’il se portait bien, tout en avertissant ses adversaires qu’il ne serait pas une proie facile. C’\u00e9taient ses premi\u00e8res d\u00e9clarations publics depuis que l’Iran a tir\u00e9 des missiles sur son voisin du Golfe, en plein milieu des frappes am\u00e9ricano-isra\u00e9liennes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Les \u00c9mirats arabes unis poss\u00e8dent une peau \u00e9paisse et une chair am\u00e8re \u2013 nous ne sommes pas une proie facile \u00bb<\/strong>, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyan, qui est \u00e9galement le souverain d’Abou Dhabi, lors d’une visite aux bless\u00e9s des frappes, ses propos ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 diffus\u00e9s samedi sur la cha\u00eene Abu Dhabi TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Nous remplirons notre devoir envers notre pays, notre peuple et nos r\u00e9sidents qui font \u00e9galement partie de notre famille \u00bb, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les \u00c9mirats arabes unis, compos\u00e9s de sept \u00e9mirats dont Duba\u00ef, s’engageraient \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger tous les habitants du pays, a-t-il pr\u00e9cis\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Your Highness, what would you like to say at this moment?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praise be to God.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am here at the hospital visiting five of those who were injured in the recent events.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All five are civilians: two Emiratis, one Indian,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

one Sudanese, and one Iranian.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are all our responsibility, and, God willing, they will make a full recovery.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second thing I would like to say is that all is well in the UAE.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is home to many devoted people \u2013 people we are honoured to stand alongside in this country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to thank our armed forces for the vital role they are playing and for their outstanding service during this war.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also thank the other security institutions: The Ministry of Interior, the security services,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Civil Defence,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and my apologies to those<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I haven\u2019t mentioned by name.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But all of them are performing a duty that honours the UAE and honours everyone who belongs to the UAE.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another point I would like to mention<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

is that the Emiratis who live in this country fulfilled their duty in a way that brings joy and pride,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

as was always expected of them. May God protect them.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the residents who live among us,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

our guests and our extended family,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

they have truly honoured us with their stance.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope they will forgive us if we have fallen short in any way.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May God protect you and protect them.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are in a time of war,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and I promise them that we will fulfil our duty,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

because it is our obligation to protect our people and our country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another message I would like to convey<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

is directed at the enemies of the UAE:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UAE is attractive; the UAE is beautiful.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UAE is a model.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I say to them: Do not be misled by the UAE\u2019s appearance.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh \u2013 we are<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

no easy prey.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will carry out our duty towards our country,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

our people,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and our residents who are also part of our family.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

May God protect the UAE,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

protect its people, and safeguard everyone who lives in it with dignity and security.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I promise everyone<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

that we will emerge stronger than before.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without doubt.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
